*Current production wait time is approximately 1-2 weeks.
Flatpits are custom made to order in San Diego, California. Each one will be hand filed, fitted and given a light wax treatment before being wrapped, packaged and shipped in two separate packages via United States Postal Service.

The Flare Kit includes a Flatpit, solid stainless steel grilling grid, 6 hot rolled 3/4" grill bars (for pots, pans, kettle or griddle), 7 flat stainless steel skewers designed to interface with the built in Flatpit skewer slots, 2 Side Shelves with built-in wrenches for our Propane Kit (propane kit not included) that mount on both sides of the Flatpit for setting your food off the flame, but not out of sight of the grill, for final prepping or finishing/resting.

Also, our new Under Shelves (warming pan not included). These include 6 under shelf bars to make 3 shelves to store your griddle, grilling grid and/or warming pan. Another option is to use the under shelves as a radiant heat cooking/warming source with 3 adjustable height options.

To complete the Flare Kit is a durable zippered accessory pouch, a pair of heat resistant grilling gloves (colors may vary) and a heavy duty carry strap with carabiners that interlock the tops of the Flatpit panels together while a piece of Velcro One-Wrap fastens the lower part of the panels tight into one piece for easy carry and silent transport.

The Flatpit is made of 1/8" cold rolled carbon steel. It has built in features that allow for options such as shelves, skewers, grill grid, propane burner and more that are currently and continuously being developed to be interchangeable with all current and previously sold Flatpits.

The Flatpit is 12" tall, 12" wide and 18.25" long when assembled. It stows away to a size of 12" x 18" and less than an inch thick. Weight is just under 25 lbs.

The steel the Flatpit is made from will rust is left wet or stored in a wet environment. We suggest seasoning the steel like you would a cast iron or carbon steel pan or paint with a high temperature barbecue paint if you feel so inclined. Even if no such extra efforts are put into the preservation of the steel, Solid 1/8" steel will last for quite some time and surface rust can be sanded or ground off depending on your level of effort.
